Group Retreats in Costa Rica

Let me show you the Costa Rica few people ever get to experience. Not the Costa Rica of crowded resorts, tourist buses, and souvenir shops. This is the hidden Costa Rica, where the jungle is still wild, the air feels different, and life moves at a pace your nervous system can actually remember. Monkeys play in the trees outside your window as you sip your morning coffee. Waterfalls flow through untouched landscapes. White-sand beaches stretch for miles with hardly another soul in sight.

Nestled in the mountains of Guanacaste, overlooking the volcanic landscapes, this retreat takes place in one of the world's remaining Blue Zones, regions known for exceptional longevity, vitality, and connection to nature. In many places we visit there is little to no cellular reception. No digital noise competing for your attention. Instead, you'll reconnect with something far more important: yourself.

Throughout the retreat, we focus on restoring what modern life often depletes. Together we support the body's natural detoxification processes, regulate and strengthen the nervous system, improve resilience to stress, and create the conditions for deep healing and lasting transformation. We nourish ourselves with fresh local foods grown from the rich volcanic soil of the region, and explore Costa Rica's habitats and hidden treasures on curated excursions: local wildlife such as monkeys and crocodiles, pristine beaches, and the magic of a seasonal turtle hatch when conditions and timing allow.

At the heart of this experience is a personalized wellness journey. Each participant receives an individualized psychedelic-supported protocol designed around their unique intentions, history, and goals. Whether your intention is emotional healing, personal growth, trauma recovery, addiction recovery, nervous system regulation, spiritual exploration, or simply reconnecting with yourself, this retreat creates the space for profound transformation.

This is not a vacation. It is a return. A return to nature, to simplicity, to the wisdom of your own body, to the version of yourself that existed before the noise.

Where You Stay

The group stays together in a beautiful private villa near one of the most prestigious and sought-after beaches in Guanacaste, just a few minutes’ walk from the ocean. Surrounded by expansive grounds and nature, the property is designed for privacy, comfort, and connection.

The main house features multiple spacious bedrooms with private en-suite bathrooms, complemented by two beautiful two-story casitas, each with a bedroom, shower, refrigerator, and comfortable sitting area.

Enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, long walks along miles of beach, and the opportunity to experience one of Costa Rica’s beloved local beaches away from the typical tourist experience.

At the heart of the villa is an open-air living space where meals are shared and conversations unfold. A private chef prepares nourishing meals using fresh, organic local ingredients — including fresh seafood, tropical fruits and vegetables, and coffee grown in volcanic soil.

The villa becomes more than a place to stay — it becomes part of the retreat itself: a space to rest, connect, nourish the body, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Costa Rica.

A bedroom with a king bed in white linen against a teak slat wall, brass wall sconces, and a woven lounge chair by a curtained window
A bathroom with a long concrete double vanity, two round brass-framed mirrors, glass globe pendants, and an open walk-in shower
The kitchen: a marble island with six woven-back chairs under two paper lantern pendants, teak cabinetry along the window wall
The 44-foot pool seen lengthwise, sun loungers on the travertine deck, and a turquoise seated Buddha spouting water into the water
The cold plunge: a square travertine tub of clear blue water under a thatched palapa roof, mango and palm trees around it
The covered open-air living room at dusk, teak-frame sofas on a jute rug, glass walls slid open to the lit pool deck on one side
Our approach

Our Group Retreat Philosophy

Our group retreats in Costa Rica are kept intentionally small, with a maximum of eight participants. That size lets us give real individual attention while holding a safe, supportive space where genuine connection and growth can happen.

Because of the depth of this work, our group retreats aren't intended for first-time psychedelic participants. They're best suited to people who have already worked with psychedelic-assisted healing.

If you're new to psychedelic work, we strongly recommend starting with one of our personalized one-on-one programs. That way we can understand your history, prepare you thoroughly, and support you individually before you step into a group setting.

Participation is by application and clinical screening, and in some cases by invitation. This keeps the experience appropriate for each person, and the group safe, cohesive, and supportive for everyone.

Our priority is always the same: an environment where every participant feels prepared, supported, and able to do this work responsibly and with confidence.

How much does a psilocybin group retreat in Costa Rica cost?

An Oneness group retreat starts at USD $2,750 for shared occupancy, with a single room at $3,200. The price covers accommodation, meals, preparation, the ceremonies and the integration afterwards. Flights are not in it. Comparable five to seven night group retreats in Costa Rica generally run $3,000 to $5,000 a person, and the luxury end goes well past that. The number on its own tells you very little. Look at how many people are in the group, how much preparation happens before you arrive, how many facilitators there are for that group, who is with you during the ceremony, and what integration you get afterwards. Cheap does not mean poor care and expensive does not mean good care.

Eight at most, and often fewer. Small is the point: it is the only way one facilitator knows every person in the room before the ceremony starts. Every place is given after screening rather than first come first served, and prior psychedelic experience is expected for the group cohort. Preparation begins well before you fly, so by the time you land you already know how the days run, what the session asks of you, and how to get yourself ready for it mentally and physically. Eight is a hard ceiling rather than a target, and it is what keeps the quality and the safety of the thing intact.

They are different medicines with different traditions around them. In ceremonial language ayahuasca is often called the Grandmother, and some practitioners today speak of psilocybin as the Mother. Those are cultural images rather than classifications. In practice the difference shows up in preparation and in format: ayahuasca usually asks for a longer run-up, including diet and medication changes, and is held in a group across several sittings. A psilocybin session needs less preparation and is usually built around one guided sitting with integration on either side. If you have never done this before, we would point you to psilocybin first, because it is the more contained of the two. Either way, decide with screening and guidance behind you.

Not in the way that word usually gets used. Personal consumption is not treated as a crime under Costa Rican law, and there is no licensing regime for psychedelic retreats in either direction, which is the grey area every centre in the country works inside. No licensing regime is not the same thing as formal authorisation, and the picture can change. Costa Rica also has a long history of plant-medicine practice behind it, and that is why the in-person part of an Oneness program happens there. It tells you nothing about the law where you live. Oneness does not supply, ship or sell any substance, and carrying anything home is a serious offence in most countries.
