Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on the medicine, the programs, your stay in Costa Rica, and how to begin.

Our approach

Oneness runs private, one-on-one psychedelic retreats in Costa Rica, not group ceremonies. The same therapist guides you through every stage: preparation, the psychedelic experience, and integration afterward. We treat the medicine as one part of the work. The deeper change comes from the preparation, the therapeutic relationship, the integration, and the wellness practices woven through your stay.

Deep healing needs a safe, private, individualized setting, and a group format can't give you that. Working with you alone, we learn your history, your goals, and what you actually need, then build the experience around it. You get more privacy, preparation shaped to you, close support during the experience, and integration that follows your own process instead of a shared script.

At Oneness, we work primarily with two psychedelic medicines: psilocybin and 5-MeO-DMT. Each offers a distinct experience and therapeutic pathway, and the medicine used is determined individually based on your goals, history, screening, and treatment plan.

No. The psychedelic experience is a single step. Lasting change comes through integration and a mix of therapeutic and wellness practices: mindfulness, breathwork, nervous-system regulation, movement, somatic work, and meditation, chosen for you.

Integration is the work of making sense of your experience and carrying its insights into daily life. We help you understand the emotions, patterns, relationships, and behaviors that surface, so the experience becomes a real part of your healing rather than a single event you leave behind.

The work continues once the experience ends. Integration support helps you process what came up, make concrete changes, and keep building awareness and resilience in the weeks that follow.

Who it's for

Psychedelic-assisted therapy may support people seeking emotional healing, personal growth, or a way through something they feel stuck in. Our programs are built for those working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, burnout, addiction recovery, grief, emotional blocks, relationship difficulties, or existential and end-of-life questions, as well as anyone seeking greater self-awareness. During intake we assess whether this work is a fit for you.

No. Many of the people we work with have never had a psychedelic experience. Education, preparation, and one-on-one guidance are built into the process, so you understand what's ahead and feel supported at each step.

Our programs are trauma-informed, with safety, preparation, and individualized support at the center. During intake we assess your history and needs, then decide together whether this approach is appropriate and how to shape it if it is.

Every journey starts with a private consultation. We learn your history, goals, and intentions, then recommend the pathway that fits, whether that's a one-on-one program, couples work, a veterans program, or microdosing.

Programs

Yes. We run small group retreats in Costa Rica, kept intentionally intimate with a maximum of eight participants so everyone gets real individual attention in a safe, supportive space. Because of the depth of this work, they're for people who already have experience with psychedelic-assisted healing, not first-timers. Participation is by application and clinical screening, and in some cases by invitation.

Our group retreats are capped at eight participants. We keep them small on purpose, so the space stays safe, cohesive, and personal, with room for genuine connection and individual attention.

No. Group retreats are best suited to people who have already worked with psychedelic-assisted healing. If you're new to this, we recommend starting with a personalized one-on-one program, where we can learn your history, prepare you thoroughly, and support you individually before you join a group. Admission to a group retreat is by application and clinical screening, and in some cases by invitation.

Yes. We design private programs for couples who want deeper connection, better communication, and shared healing. Each couple's journey is built around their goals.

Yes. Our veterans programs account for the realities of military service, trauma, transition, and reintegration. The setting is private, confidential, and shaped around each veteran's needs.

Microdosing protocols are personalized programs for exploring sub-perceptual psychedelic practice. Each one includes education, individual guidance, preparation, and integration support, so the practice stays safe and intentional.

Programs run 6 to 14 days, set by your needs and goals. Addiction recovery cases can run longer when they call for a deeper assessment or a specialized approach. Each program may include preparation, a personalized therapeutic experience, and integration support.

Your stay in Costa Rica

You'll stay in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, in accommodations chosen for comfort, privacy, and closeness to nature. The specific place is customized to your needs, length of stay, and budget. We don't think finances should keep anyone from meaningful healing, so we work with you to find an option that fits.

Fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR) in Costa Rica. From the moment you land, our team helps coordinate your transportation and transfers to your accommodation.

No. Flights to Costa Rica are yours to arrange and pay for. We recommend Liberia International Airport (LIR), and our team coordinates ground transportation from there. We also strongly recommend travel insurance to cover delays, cancellations, or other surprises.

Yes. Having a trusted person nearby can matter during this kind of work. A friend or family member is welcome to come, and we can build their participation into your package. They cover their own accommodation, meals, and travel. We'll help you plan it so you feel supported without losing the focus of your own experience.

Every package runs from pre-arrival preparation through post-experience integration. Depending on your customized plan, it may include: - Pre-arrival intake and assessment of your history, goals, and readiness - Preparation sessions before you arrive - Personalized guidance and support throughout your stay - Accommodation selected for your needs, length of stay, and budget - All meals during your stay, using nutritious, organic, locally sourced food - Airport transportation and transfers - Post-experience integration support to help you apply what you've learned

Privacy and confidentiality

Yes. Privacy is part of what makes the setting safe. You'll have personal space for reflection and integration alongside the guidance you receive. If your package includes staying on the same property as your therapist, separate private spaces are arranged so support stays available while professional boundaries hold.

Yes. Your personal information, your experiences, and everything you share are handled with strict confidentiality and care.

Yes. Trust is central to this work, so one therapist stays with you from preparation, through the psychedelic experience, and into integration.

Booking, payments and cancellation

After you complete the screening process and are approved to participate, we create a personalized plan based on your needs, goals, and travel dates. Once your personalized plan has been confirmed, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining 50% balance is due one month prior to your travel date. Once the full payment has been received, the booking becomes fully non-refundable.

To reserve your place on a retreat, a non-refundable deposit of $500 USD is required at the time of booking. The deposit is applied toward the full amount. The remaining balance is due two months prior to the retreat check-in date: September 1, 2026 for the October retreat, and February 18, 2027 for the April one. Once full payment has been received, the retreat booking is fully non-refundable.

All deposits are non-refundable. Once full payment has been received, the booking is also non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation. This policy applies to both individual journeys and retreats, as we reserve accommodations, facilitators, transportation, and other services specifically for you. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation and interruption coverage.

Yes. We work with a trusted travel agent partner who can help you find the best flight options based on your destination, location, travel dates, and budget. Because we have a special partnership with our travel agent, you receive a preferred service fee that is lower than their standard fee. The exact fee will be discussed with you directly by the travel agent before you proceed, and there are no hidden fees from Oneness. You will be connected directly with the travel agent, who will work with you to find and book the flight option that best suits your needs. One of the greatest benefits of working with our travel partner is the support you receive if your travel plans change. If there is a flight cancellation, delay, schedule change, disruption, or you need to make adjustments to your itinerary, the travel agent can help you navigate your options and communicate with the airline or other travel suppliers on your behalf. This additional support can take a great deal of stress out of unexpected travel situations, especially when traveling internationally. Of course, using our travel agent is completely optional. If you prefer to arrange your own flights or feel that another option better suits your budget, you are always welcome to book your travel independently.

Yes. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance as soon as your booking is confirmed. Your insurance should ideally include coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, medical expenses, emergency assistance, and other unexpected travel-related circumstances. Because many elements of your journey are arranged specifically for you and may involve non-refundable commitments, travel insurance is the best way to protect your investment in the event that you are unable to travel.

Your health and safety always come first. If a new health concern arises before your journey and you are advised that you should not travel or participate, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to work with you and explore whether your journey can be rescheduled. However, rescheduling cannot always be guaranteed, as accommodations, facilitators, transportation, and other services may already have been reserved and paid for on your behalf. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance with trip cancellation and interruption coverage. Depending on your policy and circumstances, your insurance may help reimburse eligible non-refundable expenses if you are unable to travel for a covered reason.

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and we will always do our best to find a reasonable solution. Where possible, we may be able to move your journey to a future date. However, this is subject to availability and any costs or non-refundable expenses already incurred in preparing for your experience. A date change is therefore not guaranteed. Travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect you against unexpected circumstances that may prevent you from traveling.
